About Ybl Palace
The historical building’s unparalleled architectural beauty represents one of the best examples of Hungarian architect Ybl Miklós’ neo-renaissance style. Built in 1869 to house the First Hungarian Savings Bank of Pest, the building was appreciated as one of the most splendid buildings of Pest thanks to the luxurious gilded main staircase, the marble-faced pillared hallways, the ornamental stairs of the office wing, and the statue of Fortuna and Kronos.
